2 young men facing aggravated murder charges after Taco Bell shooting

AMERICAN FORK, Utah (ABC4 Utah) –Two people were injured after a shooting in American Fork Monday evening.

Sgt. Josh Christensen with American Fork Police Department says officers were dispatched to the parking lot of the Taco Bell located at 633 South 500 East on reports of shots fired.

Police say it all started when two young men met up with a man and woman at Taco Bell “with the purpose of robbing them”. Not long after meeting, an argument broke out and they say one of the young men pulled out a gun and shot the man before taking off. The woman was also injured.

During his run police say he shot at a witness who was following him. Officers eventually caught up with the young suspect and took him into custody.

They say the male victim is in critical condition. The woman was treated and released at the scene. There were no other injuries. 

Both juveniles were booked into detention for multiple charges, including: attempted aggravated murder, aggravated robbery, felony discharge of a firearm, possession of a firearm by a restricted person, multiple drugs charges, and others.
