SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4 News) – Salt Lake City police responded to what they’re calling a domestic-related stabbing Thursday evening.
It happened at an apartment complex in the area of 90 East 600 South.
Lt. Russ Amott with Salt Lake City police said an adult boyfriend showed up to the apartment intoxicated, but a male juvenile in the home refused to let him inside.
The girlfriend and the mother of the juvenile showed up a short time later. Unaware of the previous confrontation with her child and the boyfriend, she allowed him in the apartment.
That’s when police say he immediately assaulted the juvenile. There was a knife involved in the incident, but it’s unclear who stabbed whom.
Both the boyfriend and the juvenile received minor injuries and were taken to a hospital for treatment. Police said the adult, later identified as 40-year-old Jon Kasai, would be taken into custody after he was released from the hospital.
He was booked into jail on charges of child abuse, assault, and intoxication.
