ROY, Utah (News4Utah) – A 16-year-old boy was killed after being struck by a FrontRunner train Saturday afternoon in Roy.

UTA spokesperson Carl Arky said the incident occurred just after 4 p.m. near 2694 West 4800 South.

Officials originally said the person killed was a female but later identified the victim as a teen boy. There was a bus bridge in place for some time as investigators worked in the area. 60-70 minute delays were also reported on FrontRunner.

Authorities do believe the teen intended to kill himself. If you, or someone you know is considering suicide, please reach out and talk to someone.
