15-year-old teen who died in Grand County motorcycle accident identified

GRAND COUNTY, Utah (News4Utah) – A 15-year-old boy who died after a motorcycle accident near Kane Creek in Grand County Friday afternoon has been identified. 

Grand County EMS was called about 1:17 p.m. on report of a severe motorcycle accident down Kane Creek. Classic Air Medical, Grand County Sheriff’s Department and Moab Police Department responded. 

Upon arrival, they found Truette Rhoda of Idaho was being attended to by off duty medical providers. After EMS took over, they also attempted life saving efforts both at the scene and while in transport to Moab Regional Hospital. 

Despite all their efforts, Truette died from his injuries. 

A post on the Grand County EMS Facebook page thanked all those who did all they could for the man. 

“Our hearts are heavy tonight as we mourn for this family,” said the post. 

The family is from Idaho Falls where they own Rizo’s Pizza, a small local favorite. A GoFundMe has been set up to help the family cover medical and funeral expenses.
