15-year-old arrested in connection with fatal West Valley shooting

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (News4utah) – West Valley City police have arrested a person in connection with a fatal shooting.

Wednesday, a 15-year-old male suspect was questioned and booked into juvenile detention regarding the shooting.

West Valley City police were dispatched to a shooting with multiple injuries at an apartment complex at 3510 West Parkway Blvd.

When officers arrived, they found three victims with gunshot wounds. A 17-year-old boy had been shot in the torso and 38-year-old man had been shot multiple times. They were both rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Charles Baker, 49, of California, died at the scene. Police say he had been staying with friends at the apartment complex.

Police say before the shooting, there was a fight involving multiple people including juveniles and adults. Investigators still trying to determine the circumstances surrounding the altercation.
