WEST HAVEN, Utah (News4Utah) – More than 400 students from West Haven Elementary participated in the 12th annual Hawk Walk to raise money for cancer research.

The event was in partnership with America First Credit Union.

Students, parents and teachers walked in support of cancer awareness.

This year, America First added a $2,500 donation to the $3,200 raised by West Haven students and parents, totaling $5,700 for this year’s event. The walk has raised more than $66,000 for the American Cancer Society since 2007.

The University of Utah mascot “Swoop” even stopped by to cheer on the kids as they danced and made their rounds around the gym.
