SANDY, Utah (News4Utah) – The Community of Grace Presbyterian Church celebrated its newly completed renewable energy project. The 110-panel solar array will offset the church’s energy usage by 85 percent.
The panels were made possible by a $63,183 grant from Blue Sky customers, the project enables Community of Grace to save thousands of dollars each year in electricity bills.
Leaders say those funds can now be repurposed for community-based outreach programs.
Rocky Mountain Power says the Blue Sky customers program has awarded over 140 renewable energy grants to community-service organizations since 2006.
