Local News

UTAH COUNTY (ABC4 News) 1000 Lights, a water lantern festival company specializing in events for families, will hold their second event in the state of Utah.

Event coordinators Zach Wertz, Nick Menendez, and Reagan Shepherd joined ABC4 news at 4 p.m. to talk about what you can expect.

After holding this popular event along the west and east coast, they will be going to Lindon Marina in Lindon, Utah on May 18, 2019.

The apex of the festival commences as thousands of attendees launch their lanterns just after
dusk to enjoy an incredible view of the water. All ages are welcome to come participate for
whatever purpose they have. Some will write their hopes and wishes, and others will
commemorate loved ones that are no longer with us.

The evening of the event includes live music, food trucks and local vendors, Bingo prizes including tablets, TVs, smart devices, headphones, and merchandise. Kids, ages 9 and under, can enter the event for free.
