1 dead, 1 critically injured after crash in Weber County

WEBER COUNTY, Utah (ABC4 Utah) – One person is dead after a crash in Weber County Tuesday afternoon.

Weber County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a hit-and-run crash near 1900 West 12th Street in Marriott-Slaterville. Deputies say a car hit another car and then took off.

A short time later police received a call about a rollover crash in the area of 4400 West 1150 South  in unincorporated Weber County.

The two people involved had to been rescued from the vehicle. 32-year-old Amber Lawrence, most recently from Layton,was pronounced dead on scene. A 33-year-old man was flown to the hospital with critical injuries.

Investigators believe alcohol may be in factor in the crashes. They say the driver was going about 100 mph at the time of the crash.
