SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC 4 News) On July 1, University of Utah cornerback Dominique Hatfield was arrested on charges of suspicion of aggravated robbery. At the time, head coach Kyle Whittingham was on vacation and unable to comment. Monday he released a statement regarding the arrest:
“Given the serious nature of the charge against Dominique Hatfield, he has been suspended indefinitely from our program while we await further clarity from the legal system.”
Hatfield is a 20-year-old junior from Los Angeles and was projected to be a starter this season.
