Utah Jazz Summer League to return in July

Utah Jazz fans won’t have to wait long to see their team back in action. NBA action will return to Salt Lake City this summer with the 2016 Utah Jazz Summer League. The team will host the event at Vivint Smart Home Arena on July 4th and 5th, before games shift to the University of Utah’s Huntsman Center on July 7th. The event will also feature the Boston Celtics, Philadelphia 76ers and San Antonio Spurs for the second straight season. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. On Wednesday, May 18th. Further details. Including a complete schedule of games, ticket package options, broadcast information and team rosters will be announced at later dates.

Indoor Football League returning to Utah

8 on 8, 50-yard football is coming back to the Beehive State, with a twist. The yet-to-be-named Utah team, returning to the Maverik Center, will be the IFL’s 11th and join franchises that also include the Billings Wolves, Colorado Crush, Green Bay Blizzard, Iowa Barnstormers and Nebraska Danger. The fans will get to vote on every aspect of the game, including calling plays in real-time.

Utah Red-White Spring Game

Utah will wrap up their 2016 spring camp on Saturday with their Annual Red-White game. There’s a lot to watch for, but one storyline that will make the front page, is the battle of the quarterbacks. Brandon Cox has been selected to lead his team as the Red team quarterback, and Tyler Huntley as the White team quarterback. Due to a minor injury, college transfer Troy Williams won’t participate in Saturday’s scrimmage. The big question everyone is asking, is who will be the starting quarterback this season? Saturday’s game won’t be a determining factor of who will get to start in the fall, but it will have plenty of implications heading into summer and fall practices. If you had to pick right now, who are you rockin’ with as your starting quarterback? Let me know in the comment section below.
