GARFIELD COUNTY (News4Utah) – Highway 12 in Garfield County was briefly closed Thursday after heavy rain and flooding in the area.

Utah Department of Transportation responded to clear the road of mud and debris.

County officials said delays are expected, but there is no need for travelers to reroute or reschedule their plans.

Visitors can still make it to Bryce Canyon National Park. The area was deemed safe and the sheriff’s office said it is getting cars through as quickly as it can.
