SALT LAKE COUNTY (News4Utah)- The Salt Lake County Health Department has released a list of the most prevalent infectious diseases for 2017.

At the top? Two sexually transmitted diseases:

Chlamydia
Gonorrhea
Hepatitis C (both acute and chronic)
Influenza (hospitalized cases)
Tuberculosis (latent)

Health officials say because not every instance is reported to them, the number of cases most likely less than the actual number of cases circulating in the community.

In 2017, the department says they investigated over 14,000 reports of disease in the county.
