PROVO Utah (ABC 4 Utah) – Elizabeth Laguna Salgado just arrived to Provo a month ago.

She’s now the focus of a police manhunt after her family reported her missing. The 26-year old Salgado was last seen Thursday leaving the Nomen Global School at 384 West Center Street in Provo.

“We are so worried about her,” said Rudemberth Salgado, Elizabeth’s uncle.

The uncle was scheduled to meet with Elizabeth Thursday afternoon to take her to the grocery store.

“I called and called but there was no answer,” said Salgado.

He said Elizabeth who is from Mexico recently finished her LDS mission there and planned to study in Utah.  She was learning english at the Nomen Global School.

Elizabeth is about 5’4″, weighing about 120 pounds with long black hair and brown eyes.

According to Provo police she was last seen wearing a denim jacket, blue jeans, black or brown knee high boots and was carrying a denim hand bag.
Her uncle said Elizabeth had been harassed by an unknown male at a restaurant where she was employed.

“He kept asking her for a date and she kept telling him no,” said Salgado. “We don’t know if he had anything to do with her disappearance.”

But a spokesman for the Provo police department said that lead went nowhere.

“We did speak with a couple of men but all they said was they asked her out on a date and she said no and that was it,” said Lt. Brandon Post.

But Post said detectives are concerned about her disappearance.  He said all of her personal items like a purse, cell phone are missing.  And he said her apartment is still intact.

“It is concerning,” he said.

Police have been canvassing different parts of the city in search of Elizabeth. Anyone with information is being asked to contact Provo police at 801-852-6210
