Families of Josh and Susan Powell reach a legal agreement

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 UTAH) A “tentative agreement” has been reached in the legal battle between the families of Josh and Susan Powell.

Susan vanished from her West Valley City home in 2009. Josh was called a “person of interest”, but killed himself and their two children in 2012.

Susan’s father, Chuck Cox, tells ABC 4 Utah that Thursday the “Powell family withdrew its motion challenging him as the conservator” of Susan’s estate and that will allow him to make decisions about when to ask the court to declare his daughter legally dead and life insurance payments.

But he told us – “If that decision is up to me – I won’t be giving up” on the belief that she could still be alive.
