LITTLEFIELD, Ariz. (ABC4 News) – The Arizona Department of Transportation warned drivers to expect traffic delays on Interstate 15 after the Utah-Arizona state line.

ADOT said all loads wider than 10 feet will have to detour around I-15 starting early April through spring of 2020 while three bridge decks are rehabilitated. Northbound and southbound I-15 will be reduced to one lane between mileposts 13 and 16 while crews make repairs.

Wide loads exceeding the restrictions will be directed to U.S. 93, Nevada S.R. 319 and Utah S.R. 56 between Las Vegas and Cedar City. ADOT said the restrictions are necessary because of the terrain and narrow lanes along the gorge.

The construction is a part of a $6.4 million transportation project in the area.
