PROVO, Utah (ABC4 Sports) – Former BYU star center Eric Mika, who left school after his sophomore season, signs a deal to play for Pallancestro Pesaro, which plays in the top league in Italy.
The 6-foot-10, 230-pound center declared for the NBA Draft in March, but was undrafted after an outstanding season with the Cougars in which he averaged 20.3 points and 9.2 rebounds per game. Mika earned first team All-West Coast Conference honors.
Mika, 22, played sparingly with the Miami Heat Summer League team, but was not signed. Mika averaged 5.4 points and 3.6 rebounds in summer league.
Mika served a two-year LDS Mission in Italy, as did his wife, Gabrielle.
Mika led Lone Peak High School to the national championship in 2013.
