The CW is possibly expanding its list of shows based on our favorite DC Comics with a new series about Batwoman.
Tuesday the network announced Ruby Rose has been tapped to play Batwoman.
Rose will make to make her debut as Batwoman in The CW’s annual crossover event in December, but the network is developing a standalone series about the superhero that could premiere in 2019. According to deadline.com, Rose is also set to play the role in the series as well.
The series could be huge for LGBTQ representation. Batwoman, a.k.a. Kate Kane, runs the streets of Gotham as an out lesbian and trained street fighter. She’s outspoken, passionate and fierce but has demons to face in order to protect Gotham.
Rose, has identified herself as gender fluid.
Batwoman joins the likes of The Flash, Arrow, Supergirl, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, and Black Lightning.
