LITTLEFIELD, Ariz. (News4Utah) – Drivers using Interstate 15 through the Virgin River Gorge in Arizona need to give themselves a little extra time this week.
Arizona Department of Transportation said it is doing “road rejuvenation” along the freeway between mile markers 13 and 25…that’s pretty much right in the heart of the Virgin River Gorge between St. George and Mesquite, Nevada.
The road may be down to one lane in each direction at times.
Darren Myers is a Utah truck driver who regularly goes through the gorge. He says he’s used to this sort of thing, but that doesn’t mean he likes it.
“It doesn’t bother me as bad, but I still hate to see construction. But you know I understand they have to do it,” said Myers.
The project could last all the way through Friday. Give yourself some extra time, slow down and make sure you give those work crews plenty of room.
