SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 Utah) We all know driving in the snow can be a pain. The Utah Department of Public Safety is using the Internet to help drivers better deal with the conditions.

Friday, the DPS launched a new website offering tips to drivers hitting the roads during the winter.

There are four main things officials want drivers to do. The biggest one is slow down.

“We’re talking about 20 maybe 30 miles under the speed limit. Everybody gets up on the interstate, see someone going a high rate of speed and say ‘those people are crazy.’ They are,” said Sgt. Todd Royce with the Utah Highway Patrol.

Troopers also say to increase your following distance by at least double. Don’t make abrupt movements and change lanes only when necessary.
