SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 Utah) The Downtown Farmers Market is celebrating its 25th Anniversary.
Salt Lake City’s largest market returns to Pioneer Park beginning Saturday, June 11.
Local growers gathered there Wednesday to help kick off the farmers market season.
“I planted 40 fruit trees on that and I had so much I had no idea what to do with it. I had a friend who says, hey, there’s a market you can take this stuff to,” said David and Carol Daniels.
The market opens at 8 a.m. and will feature more than 250 vendors. Popularity of the market has grown over the past 25 years with weekly attendance nearing 10,000 people.
