Dan C. Henry, M.D., the Director of Danielle Byron Henry Migraine Foundation and Elizabeth Henry Weyher, the Director of Communications joined Midday with an invitation for the public. The foundation is hosting a fundraiser called Shine Her Light on June 10th at 6 p.m. at the IJ & Jeanné Wagner Jewish Community Center to help improve the lives of people with migraines. The event will feature performances by the Disgusting Brothers Band and the Saliva Sisters. Tickets are $65 per person, and available for purchase at www.daniellefoundation.org
Established in March 2016, The Danielle Byron Henry Migraine Foundation aims to increase public awareness of migraine disease and its impact on patients, their families, and society.
“The most difficult part of migraine disease is that it is largely unseen and misunderstood,” says Dr. Dan Henry. “This fundraiser is an opportunity for the public to learn more about migraine disease while enjoying a fun evening for a wonderful cause.”
The Foundation is working to build a comprehensive headache treatment center in Salt Lake City.
Migraine disease is a severe neurological disease. Migraine attacks are often come with one or more symptoms including severe pain, visual disturbances, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, extreme sensitivity to sound, light, touch, smell and tingling or numbness in the extremities or face lasting from 4 to 72 hours.
The Danielle Byron Henry Migraine Foundation was founded by Dr. Dan Henry, his wife, Diane, and their daughter, Elizabeth Weyher, in honor of their daughter and sister, Danielle, who struggled with migraine disease for almost 10 years until her death in 1999 at age 17.
