ST GEORGE, Utah (ABC4 News) – Dixie State Unversity announced Wednesday it is opening the largest public ‘makerspace’ in Southern Utah at the recently opened Atwood Innovation Plaza entrepreneurship center.

“This makerspace is a true gem in our community and is a key element to building an entrepreneurial ecosystem that empowers innovators and supports entrepreneurs,” said Don Willie, an executive director at Dixie State.

The makerspace is being funded in part through a matching donation from a DSU Trustee and though a grant through the U.S. Economic Development Administration and includes laser cutters/engravers, 3D printers, sewing and embroidery, and professional printing equipment.
