ST. GEORGE (News4Utah) – More than $11 million in funding is coming to the St. George Regional Airport.
The United States Department of Transportation made the announcement Thursday. Secretary Elaine Chao said this funding will help revitalize and strengthen infrastructure at the airport specifically much-needed runway reconstruction.
This funding is in addition to the $52.7 million already awarded to Utah in Airport Improvement Program (AIP) funding through this current fiscal year.
The St. George airport is scheduled to close for four months at the end of May 2019 for a massive repair and upgrade project.
