Chris Hill issues apology for expletive-laden tirade

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4 Sports) – Utah athletic director Dr. Chris Hill issued an apology for an expletive-laden tirade heard outside of head coach Larry Krystkowiak’s press conference on Sunday following the Utes loss to Arizona State.

During the press conference, a voice can be heard cursing out the head of Pac-12 officials, Bobby Dibler. At the time, Krystkowiak did not recognize the voice.

But on Thursday, Hill admitted it was him an issued the following statement:

“I have had a few days to reflect on a heated conversation I had with an individual following our men’s basketball game against Arizona State on Sunday.

“While my emotions were high and I thought our meeting was private, there is no excuse for the inappropriate language I used. I have apologized to the person involved, who is someone I have known for years and greatly respect. I also regret any discomfort to others as a result of my cursing. As the leader of this department, I expect more of myself and I am sincerely sorry.”

Hill has not yet faced any disciplinary action by the Pac-12.
