Murray police confirm the body of Nick Kapos was found in Big Cottonwood Creek Wednesday. This is a developing story. Updates will be posted as they become available.
MURRAY, Utah (ABC4 Utah)- Family, friends, and police are desperately searching for an 82-year-old Murray man who’s been missing since Thursday.
Nick Kapos was last seen at his home in Murray. His family says he’s suffering from dementia and say the medicine he takes to help with the dementia has probably worn off.
“He is someone who is not going to make his way home on his own,” His daughter Trish Kapos told ABC4. “It’s going to be on the shoulders of the good people of Utah to bring him back to us.”
Trish is the youngest of Nick’s four daughters. She says her father’s dementia can be hard to see.
“He might even make someone think that nothing’s wrong with him because he’s going to be very friendly and he’s going to converse,” she said.
It is believed Nick left his home in Murray between 7 and 8:30 Thursday night. He was wearing a red plaid short sleeve shirt. He is about 5’6″ and weighs 176 pounds. Nick is white and has grey hair and hazel eyes.
If you see him call the Murray City Police Department at 801-840-4000.
