WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (ABC4) – Police have released additional details about a missing woman that was found dead inside of her car in West Valley City Tuesday evening.
Police say Valarie Gardner was last seen on Nov. 26 but was reported missing around Nov. 30. Her body was found Tuesday evening and officials are now looking at camera footage that can link a timeline with Gardner’s death.
A 911 call was made on Nov. 26 during the same time that Gardner was driving on Bangerter Highway. Police say the person who called in reported that they “saw a vehicle go down the ravine and into the water.”
Two troopers responded to the call and arrived on the scene around dusk, searching the area on foot, and did not see any vehicles at the time. Troopers also did not see any tracks or evidence of a crash.
Officials are also seeking a warrant for access to Gardner’s phone, which was found in the car.
An autopsy report has been completed but is not yet available to the public.
Police say there is currently no evidence of foul play.
