Big Oscars viewing party will provide help to those living with AIDS and HIV

It’s that time of  year again where Salt Lake City comes together to help AIDS patients. Stan  Penfold, the Executive Director at Utah AIDS Foundation, joined Nicea DeGering to talk about the 28th Annual Red Carpet Gala.

The Utah AIDS Foundation’s Oscar Viewing party is one of only 49 parties that was officially sanctioned by the Academy of Motion Pictures. This year’s event theme is “This is ME!” One of the big projects at UAF is helping to break down the stigma of living with HIV.

The funds raised from the Gala go to support a food bank for HIV Positive Clients, Free HIV and Low-Cost STI Testing, a syringe exchange program, case management, community outreach.

The event will be held Sunday, March 4 from 5pm-11pm at the Union Event Center.
