ST. GEORGE, Utah (ABC4 News) – Passersby found the remains of a man in the Cholla Creek area of Toquerville Sunday, according to St. George News.
Police said the individual who found the remains called 911 to report the body.
Washington County Sheriff’s deputies responded, along with their search and rescue teams. When they arrived, they found the body of a white man in his late 30s.
Deputies said the body appears to have been there for a while, based on the level of decomposition the remains were in.
The body was found in a remote location with rugged terrain and only an all-terrain vehicle could reach the body.
The man’s body was transported to the Medical Examiner in Salt Lake City to determine his identity and the exact cause of death.
