GRANTSVILLE, Utah (ABC4 Utah) An Amber Alert was canceled after it was issued for two girls age 7 and 11 outside Grantsville Wednesday afternoon.
Officials said the girls were taken from 313 S. Cooley St. around 2:15 p.m. Investigators said the father was issued papers that gave temporary custody to the girls mother. When she went to pick them up they were gone.
The suspect and father of the children, 53 year old Kenneth Shrewsbury, was eventually found in Magna. According to family he was visiting his mother when he heard about the alert.
According to Grantsville police, the father and mother are in a custody dispute. They said he voluntarily brought is daughters to a Unified Police Department substation in Magna.
Shrewsbury was taken to the Tooele County Jail, but it’s unclear what he will be charged with. The girls are back with their mother.
