‘All Governments Life’ Examines the Way Mainstream Media Covers Government

A new film that takes critical look at the way mainstream media reports on politics and government is screening Wednesday night.
Elisbeth Nebeker, executive director of the Utah Film Center, and Fred Peabody, director of “All Governments Lie: Truth, Deception and The Spirit of I.F. Stone.”
With this film Fred Peabody, a former investigative producer, wanted to tell the story of today’s independence “muckrakers” from his own perspective.
Peabody is an Emmy-winning journalist and filmmaker whose credits include seven years as a producer-director on the acclaimed CBC investigative program “the fifth estate”.
His film on the childhood exploitation of the Dionne quintuplets was nominated for an Emmy in 1998, and he won an Emmy in 1989 for a film about wild horses rescued from starvation and abuse.
There is free screening of All Governments Lie with a post film Q&A at Rose Wagner Theatre Wednesday night at 7 p.m. For more information visit utahfilmcenter.org
