Agents arrest Cedar City child homicide suspect in Washington

GOLD BAR, Wash. (News4Utah) – Police have arrested a woman and her boyfriend accused of killing her 2-year-old son in Cedar City.

Investigators announced charges on Thursday and police said the couple was caught in Washington State by Snohomish County Violent Offender Task Force.

The couple made their first court appearance Friday afternoon.

Charging documents state back in June, Gavin Michael Haar was taking care of his girlfriend’s son at a home on South Sunset Drive.

During that time, police said the child suffered a cut to his abdomen which caused him to bleed out and die.

After an investigation, Haar was charged with murder and child abuse. The boy’s mother, Brittany J. Hall,  was charged with obstruction of justice.
