SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 Utah) The Salt Lake City Fire Department responded to a residential fire at 1250 S. 900 W. around 11 a.m. Friday.
When fire crews arrived, they found heavy smoke and flames coming from the abandoned house.
Due to the structural damage, and the possibility of the house collapsing, firefighters took a defensive approach while extinguishing the fire from outside the structure. Firefighters kept the fire from affecting nearby homes and businesses.
There were no active utilities connected to the home.
The house suffered severe fire and water damage. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
