2 Arrested After Officer Witnesses Drive-By

WEST VALLEY CITY (ABC4 Utah) – West Valley City Police say one of their officers just happened to be watching when a car fired at a home, just off of a main road, in West Valley City last night.

It happened at 4670 West 4100 South in West Valley City.

Police say, there was a house party there, Saturday night. Five people between the ages of 18 and 21, left the party and then came back with a gun (believed to be a shot gun) and shot at the house.

It has yet to be determined if there were people outside the residence at the time of the shooting, if there were, the charges will be attempted murder.

The car was impounded and West Valley City police department is working to get a warrant to search the vehicle, where they anticipate they will find the weapon used.

They have two in custody and are seeking three more suspects.

The officer who witnessed the event says that when the perpetrators realized that the police were there, they turned off the car lights, pulled away about a block, and then scattered.

The two who have been caught are 18 and 19 year olds, identified by police as Alexis Garcia-Alcantar and Jennifer Diego-Rufino.

Police investigated the scene last night and then went back to the home this morning to see if the daylight would reveal more detail.
