19-Year-Old Brigham City Man Killed in Auto Pedestrian Accident

MILLVILLE, Utah (ABC4 News) A 19-year-old an from Brigham City died after running acrooss traffic on SR 165 near Millville Monday morning, 

Utah Highway patrol said the incident unfolded near 2600 South at 6:30 a.m. when dispatchers received a call of a man, later identified as Roman J Guereca, running in and out of traffic.

A few minutes later a call came in that the same man was lying down in the southbound lanes of SR 165 without a shirt. 

A good Samaritan stopped to help him when Guereca jumped up, talked to the man for a brief moment, then ran across the south and northbound lanes before being hit by a 2004 Chevy Pickup. 

Guereca was killed instantly.

Troopers said it appears the man was in crisis for some reason and the accident is still under investigation. It is not known if there was any medical, mental or any other impairment issues that played a factor in Guereca’s behavior. 

The family has set up a GoFundMe to help with funeral expenses.
