So much of the holiday season revolves around warm meals and tasty treats, but did you know one in seven Utahns are at risk of going hungry each day? According to the Utah Food Bank, one in five children do not know where their next meal will come from.
The need to feed is real, which is why Smith’s Food and Drug stores is now partnering up with the Utah Food Bank to give people an quick, easy way to give back this holiday season. The Utah Food Bank is teaming up with Smith’s and ABC4 on 12/14 at Smith’s in Bountiful (555 S. 200 W.) as part of Utah Food Bank’s Holiday Food and Fund Drive.
ABC4 Utah will be broadcasting live all morning on 12/14 and viewers are encouraged to visit the store to make a donation of much needed baby products. Everyone thinks of food when they think of Utah Food Bank, but oftentimes the tiniest Utahn’s in need are forgotten. Items needed include:
– Diaper rash cream
– Baby shampoo, wash and soap
– Baby food
– Toddler food and snacks
These items are collected, then distributed to area food pantries by Utah Food Bank.
If people can’t visit in person to donate, it’s easy to donate to Utah Food Bank online by visiting utahfoodbank.org. All donations are tax-deductible, so it’s the perfect thing to do this holiday season!
