The American Cancer Society Relay For Life movement is the world’s largest and most impactful fundraising event to end cancer. We sat down with Catina Struble, the American Cancer Society Community Development Manager, Jenn Nigh, the Event Chair for the Relay For Life and Mori Paulsen, Bank of America Market President and Merrill Lynch Market Executive to talk about the event.
Although it sounds like it would be a running event, Relay For Life is actually a walk, and anyone can participate. People form teams and raise money leading up to the event. Then, everyone comes together for a night of fun that celebrates cancer survivors, remembers loved ones lost to cancer, and unites us in our commitment to fight back against the disease.
The Relay isn’t just a walk. It’s an event the whole family will love with lots of things to do and enjoy. A 5K and kid’s fun run at 8 pm, a bounce house and a bounce house obstacle course, dunk tank, face painting, local firefighters will be at the event for kids to meet, The Disney princesses will be walking the track, we will be having smoked turkey legs, and that’s not even all of it!
There is also a special dinner for cancer survivors at 6 pm at First Baptist Church on Wed, June 5th – to RSVP visit our website.
The Relay For Life of Salt Lake City will be on June 21st to 6 am on Saturday, June 22nd at Murray Park.
