Did you know there is a shortage of diapers in Utah? Victor Velivis, Founder and Executive Director of the Utah Diaper Bank, explained what he has been doing about the issue and what you can do to help.
The Utah Diaper Bank is participating in this year’s 2016 National Diaper Need Awareness week with the goal to distribute 100,000 diapers.
Although 100,000 diapers a year sounds like a lot, the Utah Diaper Bank believes this will only touch the surface of the problem. Most of their monthly partners distribute the diapers they ship them within a week. For the Wasatch front, Velvis believes they need at least 50,000 diapers per month to even begin to cover the need.
Velivis said communities have come together to help with the rising issue. Though, even with the additional help, the Utah Diaper Bank is still looking for volunteers and most importantly a warehouse space to help the upcoming growth and distribution process.
