How to Bring Your Goals to Life

Good Things Utah

Do you have goals in mind you would like to accomplish, but feel they are unachievable? Creating a vision board may help you get a more clear idea and help you visualize how to reach them.

Shyloh Belnap shared how she created hers in Pin of the Week.

She said before you make your vision board, it helps to first clarify your goals or intentions and try not to overwhelm yourself with too many goals. Consider only having 1-3 goals per category. If a category doesn’t resonate with you, don’t worry about making a goal for it.
When making a vision board, there are no instructions and no rules. Shyloh said the most important thing about this project is connecting with the board.
Consider using:
  • A canvas, poster, foam core board, picture in a frame, white board, magnet board or cork board.
  • Magazines
  • Photos, quotes, sayings, reminders of events (trinkets from a trip)
  • Markers to write or draw on your board
  • If you use a cork board or magnet board, you can change the board as you change, so you would want pins or magnets!

You will need:

  • Scissors, tape and glue.
A few tips:
  1. Focus on putting things on there that make you think about how you FEEL.
  2. Don’t do this in a hurry! Give yourself a few hours.
  3. Consider doing this with friends or family!
