A little pizza. A little politics. A lot of fun. Janeen Golightly headed to Southern Utah University for a slice of pizza and a side of politics. It’s the schools’ weekly Pizza and Politics event. The event is a student moderated discussion and happens every Wednesday. The event is open to students and community alike.
According to Mary Bennett, the director of the Michael O. Leavitt Center for Politics & Public Service, the Leavitt Center is celebrating a big anniversary this year. It’s in it’s 20th year at SUU!
The center is run by students. It’s a hands-on approach to politics!
“It’s learn by doing; an on the job experience,” says Bennett.
