Reagan stopped into Doug Smith Subaru to visit Brian, the service manager to learn how tips on how to take care of your car’s oil.

A frequent question customers ask, “why do my oil changes get pushed out longer, and longer?” The reason being is Brain says, “vehicles burn oil a lot cleaner. Cars are manufactured a lot more efficient which results in the car not breaking down the oil as quick, and in turns pushes out the oil changes longer.”

Most newer cars are requiring synthetic oils which benefit the vehicle because it withstands the heat better, and it does not break down as quick so that drivers can push their drive to the 5-6,000 mark.

Brian suggests watching your oil every 5,000 miles or 6 months, but when in doubt always refer to the owners manual because every car is a little different.
