Father’s Day is approaching quickly and what’s a better gift than a trendy haircut for dad? Matthew Landis Atelier joined us with Michael Stockdale, from his salon, and Conlin Harwood from Curriculum Barber Shop, to talk about the male consumer.

The male consumer has often been an after thought in the beauty industry, but in recent years, there has been a rise in hairdressers, hair salons, and barbershops that cater to them.

While men tend to use fewer hair products than the average woman, they will spend more money for quality and visit the their salon or barbershop more often, changing their routines and habits less often, making them a highly sought after clientele.

Even Brian visits the barbershop often!

Trendy barber shops have been popping up all over Utah in the last few years, reversing several decades of decline from the 1970’s to the early 2000’s.

Matthew explained that the modern barbershop caters to the modern man, an oasis filled with more masculine touches than your average salon. From big, comfortable leather chairs and hot towels to straight razor shaves and the ability to walk-in without an appointment can give any man a much needed break from life’s hectic demands.

If you want to spoil your dad this Father’s Day take him to Matthew Landis Atelier at 955 E. Harvey Milk Blvd (900 South), Salt Lake City, UT 84105.

Or call them at (801) 755-2392.
