Utah Valley Hospital is expanding its campus by putting in the Pedersen Patient Tower, opening January 27. Janet Frank with Intermountain Healthcare shared what will be happening with the new expansion.
“It’s more of a replacement project,” said Frank. Going forward, this tower is where most of their patients will be treated and each patient and unit will be moved one at a time. The new rooms are almost double what they are now.
“We have a much better space for loved ones to be there with a patient, much better room for care givers to provide care,” said Frank.
The new tower will offer many different units such as an emergency department, imaging, main entrance and so much more. A new healing garden will also be put in place during this transformation. It offers a beautiful scenery and seating for patients and family to enjoy this outside space.
“Just staying in a room isn’t always the best healing environment,” said Frank.
To check out the new rendition, there will be an open house held Saturday January, 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Utah Valley Hospital, 1034 North 500 West, Provo.
