What better way to spend the Saturday before Halloween with your little monsters than at the Monster Block Party!
Tara Olsen, Gallivan Center Events Manager, said families and children of all ages are welcome to attend. There will be trick-or-treating booths, a costume contest with prizes (kid, teen, and adult divisions), free arts and crafts projects, a pumpkin drop and live music performances.
Admission and all activities are free, excluding train rides. This daytime Halloween festival takes place at the Gallivan Center (239 S. Main Street, SLC, UT 84111) on Saturday, October 28th from 11am.- 3pm.
The much anticipated pumpkin drop event will kick off at 12:15pm. The Salt Lake Fire Department will drop pumpkins from the top of a fire truck ladder. Shortly after, there will be a costume contest. Throughout the day, Power49.9 and B98.7 radio stations will be handing out invitations to participate in the costume contest for five different age and family groups. The contest is at 2:30 p.m. so be sure to stop by the radio station booths to show off your trendy and creative Halloween costume.
There are many parking garages around the area to park in but hte easiest place to park is under the Gallivan Center. Parking there is only $5 for the day. If you don’t want to worry about parking, the trax line also stops right in front of the Gallivan Center.
