Fillers are used to rejuvenate more than just your cheeks and lips. Alfie Symes and Jeanna Wilkerson, both expert injectors at Utah Facial Plastics, joined us to discuss some surprising uses for dermal fillers.

1. Hollow Temples

Temple hollowing is common with aging and also for highly active individuals who may lose that volume over time. It can impact how “healthy” or “rejuvenated” a person appears. Filler is a quick, non-invasive option for so many of our patients. Sculptra and Voluma are fillers that are commonly used to bring volume back to the temple area. Sculptra is a semi-permanent filler that does require more than one treatment in order to get the full effect (3 treatments are recommended). Sculptra works really well in the temple area because it stimulates collagen production while still adding volume. Juvederm Voluma is another really great filler that takes effect right away and lasts up to two years.

2. Earlobe Rejuvenation

Believe it or not, you can put filler in your earlobes. Just like the rest of your face, earlobes start to sag with aging or just from use of heavy earrings. Often times, filler is the perfect non-invasive way to fix your saggy earlobes. However, if your earlobes are too large, earlobe reduction surgery with one of our facial plastic surgeons would be a better option. Patients with small earlobes can also make them fuller or more round with filler.

3. Neck Wrinkles

Do you have “rings” around your neck? Neck wrinkles are those horizontal lines that are caused by either age or tech neck. Tech neck is caused by constantly looking down at our cell phones. Neck wrinkles can thankfully be corrected or softened with filler. This is a fairly quick and painless treatment that can last up to one year.

4. Hand Rejuvenation

Hands are often forgotten about, but they age with time as well. Utah Facial Plastics has a great solution to get your youthful hands back. Restylane Lyft is the first FDA approved treatment for hand rejuvenation. Restylane Lyft is a hyaluronic acid filler that can treat volume loss on the back of the hands. As our hands age we notice that the bones, tendons and veins are more prominent. Hand rejuvenation with filler replaces the volume that has been lost and gives you back the smooth hands you once had.

Utah Facial Plastics is currently offering 10 complimentary units of Botox with any filler purchase, as well as a free skin lightening cream from Revision skincare and Deborah Lippman nail polish with any hand rejuvenation purchase while supplies last ($104 value).
