Braised Short Ribs From Harley & Bucks

Chef Edgar Flores from Harley and Bucks joined us to share his recipe for Braised Short Ribs in conjunction with Ogden Restaurant Week. 

Braised Short Ribs


  • 1 lb short ribs cut in chunks
  • 1 cup Balsamic Vinegar
  • 1 cup Red Wine
  • ½ Onion
  • 2 Carrots
  • 2 Celery
  • 8 cups Water
  • ¼ cup Beef Base
  • 1 tbl spoon Thyme
  • 1 Bay Leaf
  • ¼ tbl spoon Red Crushed Pepper
  • Salt and Pepper to taste


  1. Fry the short ribs on each side
  2. Put them on a baking pan with all the rest of the ingredients and bake at 350° for 3 ½ hours
  3. Serve with mashed potatoes and vegetables
