We all associate certain things with fall. The color changing leaves, cooler temperatures, football games, flannels and of course, pumpkin spice lattes! Starbucks launched everyone’s favorite seasonal drink on August 28th this year which got us thinking, who has the best pumpkin spice latte?
Nicea and Reagan taste tested three different pumpkin spice lattes to determine which tops the rest. The three coffee shop contenders were Starbucks, Beans and Brews and a local shop, Raw Bean.
All coffees were around $4.50 for a small latte topped with whipped cream and nutmeg. The lattes ranged in varying shades of orange from the pumps of pumpkin sauce. The more visible the pumpkin color, the sweeter the latte tasted.
Although Nicea and Reagan were confident in their ability to figure out which latte belonged to which coffee chain, they got 0/3 correct! They both guessed that the local coffee shop would have the best pumpkin spice latte, but it turns out the pumpkin spice mogul, Starbucks, by far had their favorite drink.
There has been no end date released, but Starbucks typically discontinues the latte around Christmas to make wave for all the new holiday flavors. If you are looking for a sweet treat to satisfy your pumpkin cravings, head over to Starbucks and order their “pumpkin pie in a mug.”
