Utah author, Brandon Mull,  New York Times bestselling author, hits #1 with his latest fantasy book, “Wrath of the Dragon King”. It’s the second in the Dragonwatch series, the sequel series to the beloved Fablehaven series.

Mull sat down with GTU to discuss the ongoing success of the series as well as the latest book which he says involves the same characters in new adventures.

Dragonwatch is the first installment of a five-book series and the follow-up series to Fablehaven. Wrath of the Dragon King is the second installment in the series and follows Kendra and Seth Sorenson shortly after the end of the Fablehaven series. A new challenge arises from Celebrant, the king of the dragons, threatening war against humankind. The third book is set to release fall 2019.

Mull’s novels can play such an important part in getting kids hooked on reading, but they can also let families’ imaginations run wild together. Jessie mentioned she and her boys are on book two of the original series and look forward to reading it together as a nightly ritual.

Mull has a lot of dedicated fans and it is clear he is just as dedicated to them.

“Brandon Mull is a road-warrior,” said Chris Schoebinger, publishing director for Shadow Mountain Publishing. “He just finished a five-week author tour, visiting ten states and twenty-three cities. In Idaho Falls, hundreds of fans stood in line as Brandon signed for four straight hours. His fans are crazy for Dragonwatch and we’re thrilled for his success.”

Deseret Book is currently running a deal where if you buy Dragonwatch Book 2, you can get the hardcover edition of Dragonwatch book 1 for $5.99. Now till Christmas! Limited autographed copies available.
