Key tips to maintaining a well-kept beard

Whether your man has grown out his beard for “Movember” or has one all the time, maintenance is key to it looking sharp!

Brian stopped in at City Barbers located at 241 E 300 S in Salt Lake City to see what it takes. Barber, John Easton, explains that the “mountain man look only looks good on one guy.” Most men who are working class professionals cannot have a “sloppy looking beard,” so to achieve that clean and well kept look, John explains that keeping an angular square shape to the beard right under the chin is best and will in turn also make the jaw look more square. Tapering in the sides and graduating longer towards the chin can give the beard a nice, full look as well.

Aside from shaping and trimming, John said beard oil is key to avoiding irritation, dry skin or ingrown hairs. The best time to apply beard oli is after a shower. Be sure to massage it into the skin, not necessarily just onto the hair.
