Sonali Loomba and Sujanya Subramanian, the owners & artistic Directors at Bollywood Dance Company stopped by the studio to tell us about their upcoming events.

“India is a country of rich heritage and culture & each state has its own unique  food , language & culture to offer,” says Sonali. “We are very pleased and happy that we have been able to bring this culture to the community of Utah through various mediums like workshops, classes and different festivals.”

That includes festivals like HOLI, famously called the ‘Festival of Colours’ which is one amongst the vibrant, colorful, joyous festivals of India. It is celebrated each year in March to welcome spring and harvest .

“This festival is also a celebration of love and togetherness,” says Sonali.

This year’s festival at the Hare Krishna temple in Spanish Fork is two days, March 30th & 31st (10 am- 4 pm & 11 am – 4 pm ).  You can purchase your tickest online for $6.50. Colours, for throwing together as a group, are available at the venue for purchase.

Sonali and Sujanya have been performing at this festival for the last 3 years showcasing the best of Indian culture and dancing. They are excited to be back on 30th March.

To try dances lessons from both women, you can try beginner classes at nominal pricing. They are every Wednesday 7 – 8 PM at Core 7 fitness, South Jordan and every Thursday 7 – 8 PM – East High School in Salt Lake City .

They also perform May 17th at the Living Traditions festival in Salt Lake.
